Mind Maps on the last day of Healing Diets I at the School of Natural Medicine in Boulder, Colorado, bright truth to light to learning in uniqely creative ways.
Like the ether element from which the four elements flow and return, mind maps bring a sense of completion, satisfaction and surprise!
How do we learn who we are? how we feel? what we think? Not by being spoon fed, and subject to stressful exams, but by curiosity, exploration, enthusiasm and passionate presence.
How we feel, sense. and know the essence of our exploration and how to communicate feelings and emotions and information around nourishment and bring understanding to our food choices is a personal journey involving all aspects of being.
Kudos to our courageous students becoming the 'salmon of soul' as they fight against the currents of hunger, craving, habits and culture to discover health of body, heart, mind and soul.
It is profoundly touching when each student talks about their mind map and how the impulse came to draw what they did in the search for embodiment and integration. Three students had never done one before and it was fascinating to see them overcome the fear of wanting to do it 'right'. Realizing there is no 'right' is a step forward in freedom of expression.
Embodying experience and transforming and integrating information into wisdom is the joy of learning, growing, evolving into your highest potential. Learning needs to be spontaneous, free from self or other judgement, creative, explorative, appreciated and honored as part of the process of becoming one's true self.
And then there is the lovely experience of drawing, coloring, bringing forth the joy of childhood expression.
While there are many ways to do Mind Maps, there is only one true way, your way in that moment!
Fascinating are the qualities of each Mind Map, some gentle, soft, others strong, vibrant. Each student creates something that has never been created before, a message from themselves, bringing together their thoughts and feelings to achieve a new level of compassionate integration.
