Graziella, my lotus dance partner, has a vision of combining dance, movement, yoga and other amazing skills into a School of Balance. She radiates a most heart opening energy of loving enthusiasm. Sharing this amazing fun The Birth of the Lotus dance with her is both a joy and a privilege.

As elders if we do the work to keep ourselves healthy, strong, creative and alive in service, we can share the journey of those entering the stream of their joyful creativity.

Later in the Talent Show program she supported another young woman yogini in balance poses, extraordinay strength, balance and beauty. So wonderful to see the staff here at Body Mind Retreat representing some of the most positive, loving and creative energies of the new generation.

What we choose to do with our time is the creation of our life. Living what we love, being love, giving and receiving love, opening to love, welcoming love, love as our essence, surrendering to being fully part of this unfolding journey of our soul, is our experience of life, to the extent we can embody love.

Expressing the essence of our soul self with joy and happiness, and a mind in balance, is the work of a lifetime, but the good news is, every step we take brings us closer to the home of our sou. Celebrate love!!

DETOX TEA REMEDY & RADIATION PROTOCOLS

Spring is here, radiation has increased worldwide due to the Japan nuclear disaster, soit is an excellent time to cleanse and put preventive measures into daily routines.

Detox Tea by Farida Sharan ND MH AHG

Equal parts: borage leaves, burdock root, dandelion root, gotu kola herb leaves and stems, licorice root, nettle leaves, red clover blossoms, red raspberry leaves, uva ursi leaves, yellow dock root.

Directions: 1 tsp per boiling water poured over if all powdered; if roots are not powdered simmer very gently for 15 minutes, then steep with leaves. 1 cup or more per day for a gentle spring activation of all the eliminative channels.

RADIATION PROTOCOLS: alkalinize your system with alkaline foods, vegetable green juices and energy soup, alkalinize your water with drops from the health food store & eat high amounts of the follow foods to build up your system and protect against increased radiation.

SEAWEEDS: kelp, dulse, wakame, raw nori

IODINE: high iodine such as Swiss chard, turnip greens, wild garlic and onions, watercress, squash, mustard greens, spinach, asparagus, kale, citrus, watermelon and pineapple; high mineral content foods in leafy green vegetables.

RAW MISO: is a food that has been acclaimed as a general protector against radiation sickness.

BEETS: raw beet juice has been successfully used to prevent radiation-induced cancers.

Administration and continuous book creation is always moving forward, and since my return from my retreat, this has been a time of preparation, of putting all gained in retreat into living a new pattern in my daily life.

Wonderful connections with potential students; development of new information for classes; enrollment of current students into advanced studies; even accounting and the satisfaction of paying bills proves again that administration on earth element levels gives a strong clear and good foundation for growth to emerge as well as a sense of well being and all aspects of life and work taken care of - love the feeling!

I enjoyed another session with our vibrational medicine teacher, Diane Dula, and this time, each acutonic resonance with tuning forks or Tibetan bowls, pulses through my entire being, including cranium, and opening into a full field of oneness. Love how one's being continues to open and flower into creation if we do the work of release along with growth.

Fragrant Passage - Death as a Spiritual Adventure - Self Healing processes with natural medicine.

I have been invited to speak at the Natural Home Funeral Alliance Conference on Saturday October 9th at 10:30 am, at the Unity Church, just across the street from where SNM was located for three years on Folsom Street at Valmont.

When my latest book, The Old Man and His Soul first came out, I was proofing it in our local North Boulder cafe, Logans, when I bumped into Karen van Vuuren, the force behind Natural Transitions, a non profit in Boulder Colorado that inspires to educate and support families who choose to care for their own dead, helping them to make choices that are more meaningful, affordable, and environmentally conscious, was my neighbor for three years on Wonderland Lake. I spontaneously gave her a copy of the book as I knew of her interest with death and dying naturally, and the next thing I know I have been invited to speak at a conference.

One of our SNM graduates, Sherry Dianeus, a Essential Oils Therapist from our trainings three years ago, works with Karen, as well as with a private practice easing dying passages with colonics, essential oils and massage with compassionate vigil care.

SONG - SHE BURNS BRIDGES WHEREVER SHE GOES

Secretly, I sing rap songs when I drive the car. They come and go. I love and adore them when they are happening and then too soon I forget them. Keep saying I must have a tape recorder in the car. Anyway, this is one song that got remembered and wrote down, because of a group of teenagers that needed a song to cheer them up on day on my travels - it worked - what a song! Try it! See if it doesn't make you feel better!

HEALING YOURSELF IS FACING YOURSELF

SIMPLY: We heal when we are ready to let go and move on; we heal when we connect within to truth and reach out to our higher self; we heal when we can no longer bear the pain of our own mind and our present view of reality. We heal when we wish to die to our present self and evolve with the unfolding universe.

INVITING GRACE FROM THE INVISIBLE WORLD

So often when we are seeking we feeling the longing, searching hunger toward something we can only sense and feel, something that is approaching, something that is evolving, something we want to illuminate us, to lighten us, and to gift us with grace.

That longing is our fractal evolutionary edge still getting used to the idea that we can unfold infinitely continuously creatively alive, that we can open into the unfolding universe and receive the blessings and grace from the cosmos we participate with.

I love this photograph my dear old friend Charlie who I met on the ship to England in 1959 sent me because that human heaviness of the mountain rooted in duality is still seeking the heaven of light that descends in a vortex to meet and grace the mountain of longing. In the invisible world we seek for metaphors and images to describe the experience, and this photo certainly does it for me. In the visible world in classes with devoted evolutionary self healing students of life the communal personal world expands through the heart horus into the sacred teaching space and illuminates a group synergy of longing and grace - the meeting of the visible and invisible worlds - divinity of grace meeting humble struggling soul - and voila! illumination. So beautiful to be part of. There I think I was able to give some idea of the energetics of transformation.

These five days we explore the essential oils of joy and gladness while we plunge the depths of our psyche to understand emotional healing from the roots of reaction and the hunger of longing for the love and support and understanding and affection we never received, and then, aMAZing, we receive it within ourselves, and it was there all the time. AmystERY revealed and a lesson a student never forgets. Seek within and the grace descends when the seeking is true, passionate and heart felt - and there is the edge of evolution, a dance of seeking and being found!!! Do YOU want to be found? Ask yourself that and you will begin to face yourSELF and find YOURself and BEcome YOURSELF!!! Beautiful!1

PREPARING THE TEMPLE OF THE LIVING GOD

Self Healing as a Spiritual Path is the foundation of all the teachings in the School of Natural Medicine International in Boulder, Colorado. The principles of purification are at the root of all true spiritual paths. There are choices. There is discrimination. There is sacrifice. There is elimination. To receive we have to create space. When we choose Self Healing as a Spiritual Path we define a life that is pruned to effective simplicity to achieve our highest goal - spiritual awakening.

If the mind is busy we still it with meditation.

If we waste or fritter away our time we dedicate ourselves to service so that we do something of value to others and this world.

If we have addictions we use their force as resistance to develop will and discipline.

If we have physical illnesses we learn to move them through us and not use them as fodder for fear. We change our habits and embrace an even stricter discipline to dance with the dragons of negativity and karma and win over our opponent.

Life is a gift. Our body is a gift. If we honor our body as the temple of our living god -- our spirit, our soul, our highest self, our avatar -- whatever words suit our view of reality -- we take care of our body not as an ego presentation of perfection, a mask that hides our struggles, or an arrogant achievement where we judge others, but a work in progress that includes humility, and sharing our human experience with transparency in trust that we may be of service to other struggling souls.

We are indeed a work in progress. We are always preparing our body temple to receive the spirit of the god that lives through us each day. We are indeed our own avatar if we are willing to see ourselves as a vehicle that carries our soul through a passage of time. Our exit awaits. The question for today is -- how are we preparing ourselves to receive our passing?

I AM MY OWN AVATAR!

If there is a Higher Self then we are the vessel it illuminates. We are the vehicle for divine presence. This body temple is our own avatar! Just a fun idea to explore.

Spirit into action requires connection, communion, receptivity, and willingness to prepare to receive the infinite love that surrounds us and allow it to inhabit our being, and manifest in our life, in all we think, say and do. What an incredible opportunity.

I used to believe the loving compassion of Kwan Yin flowed through me blessing my healing and teaching work. I loved to fast, cleanse, meditate, do yoga, and live purely with diet to open to the loving grace of this goddess. I don't contain my idea into a form any more. I open to love and embrace the continuing unfolding of its presence to flow through all I am and all I do. Spirituality is not something up there. It is what manifests in action through our consciousness. Lets live spirituality instead of believing it is somewhere else.

I don't think we need machines or scientific recreations of species, however entertaining the idea may be. As true human beings we can welcome our divine self into our lives and let the love of the universe live creatively and compassionately through us, in our imperfect imperfection that keeps us longing and striving to become all we can be.  LOVE!!

WHAT IS EVOLUTION? HOW DO WE EVOLVE? CAN WE EVOLVE FASTER? WHAT DO WE WANT TO EVOLVE INTO?

I love questions that are bigger than answers. They are the questions that get you thinking, the questions that could have as many answers as every person on the planet. When we think of evolution perhaps our concepts are influences by our desires. What do we imagine as our evolved self? That might mean the new age everything is perfect I get everything I visualize and feng shui for person, or it might mean stillness and peace to another, or it might mean flying around the world with a computer helping out during any crises.

How can we evolve? Can we even become true human beings by taming our passions, desires, reactions and needs?

Has this world evolved? Are there more good people now than ever? I kind of doubt that. This seems to be a place of duality that harbors all souls with all purposes.

There are a plethoria of evolve websites growing out there, from the Integral creatives, to the Feminine Power group, to the politicos, the ecos, the greens, and so on. We seem to have a communal dream of evolution based on the belief that this world could be a better place. But is it meant to be a better place or is it just an area for whatever personal evolution we can achieve? To me the answers are as fascinating as the questions.

I do watch students evolve into calmer, creative and courageous beings who manifest a life style that flows from an authentic place. I see self healing enthusiasts heal diseases and learn how to manage their own body.

I visited Sandra, School of Natural Medicine Naturopath grad from many years ago, yesterday in Estes Park. She was bedridden when she asked for my help. After a short time she was up and living again and signed up as a student and went through all the trainings. She practiced for years and now has a Celtic shop and writes books, and is the wise woman to responds to all requests for help from near and far. Yesterday she said. "I don't eat anything sweet. I never eat it because if I want to be the person I enjoy being I can't eat sugar." That is self healing as its best. Why create the problem? Why not learn the cause and effect that creates the problem? And so I leave you to your questions and answers.

As I am completing my book The Old Man and His Soul, I coined a phrase that suits this evolutionary questioning well. We are all 'embryo souls' passing from birth in this world to death from this world. How we live our journey, how we prepare to leave this world and how we die into the invisible world that waits for us is based on feelings, images, cultures and emotions. Can't wait to enjoy the February classes. What joy to set aside the time to travel deep within and explore the questions and search and seek our way toward truth, light, love and awakening.

THE ART OF MANIFESTING DREAMS, GOALS & VISIONS

Over the years I have witnessed miracles of manifesting when School of Natural Medicine students need to fund classes or retreats or build businesses. This year during this time of financial recession I am advising would be students to create gift and trade cards to receive treatments, consultations after their training. It truly is a time to gain skills and create an abundant lifestyle with work you love.

Every year during enrollment inquiry conversations I enjoy the engagement with minds that vacillate, fear, question, postpone, and believe they can't achieve what they want. While I do my best to help inquirers and students through those hurdles and challenges, I cannot solve their problems or do their work for them. It is up to the creativity, passion and determination of each student to make their dreams come true. However I love to give them ideas and suggestions based on my experience.

When I began my studies, I was a single mom. I was going to college, had a part time job, and not only needed to pay for classes but also for the babysitter! I never let that stop me. I took in alterations, cooked meals, did food runs for coop wholesale prices and babysitting to make my dreams come true. I never imagined how that passion and determination would create the foundation for the school, work and teaching I do today.

One student got a nanny job on the basis the employer paid for her living food training so she would be able to to do that for the family. Another sold gift cards for treatments, meals, and consultations ahead of a training, sold 20 @ $50 and paid the tuition, and after the 20 were used as case histories, was well on her way to making good money. Two ladies felt they couldn't ask their boss for time off but lo and behold when they did, the chiropractor paid for both their tuition for a full summer school at $3000 each plus the study materials $3000 and later on their clinical training, and they became Naturopaths in his practice. The sky is the limit when you open to support and abundance. Help comes in mysterious ways. Even as they graduated they raved about how surprised they were, and couldn't believe they were so afraid to even ask for time off!!!!

Over the years I personally have had funds appear as if grace descended. Twice when I moved, when I received my first letter in Petaluma and another time in Albuquerque some years later, it was a letter from a grateful patient with a gift of $2000 to help me on my way. Another time a grateful mother of a patient sent me a letter with $500 as a gift toward an India trip, and I used it to stay in Claridge Hotel in Delhi when I attended spiritual discourses. Students have healed family relationships and then been funded by parents. Others received scholarships, grants, loans, gifts, and other funding. At other times when I needed for fund books, DVD's or a retreat, students would enroll from some far corner of the world and the funds would be there.

It seems to be more than feng shui, creative visualization, positive thinking or organized planning. It also requires passion, magic, trust, faith, perseverance, being willing to ask, being willing to receive, and more. If we make these challenges an adventure, then we are sure to succeed, as nothing succeeds as well as laughter, joy and love.

WE DREAM OF A PARADISE ON EARTH - A HEALING RETREAT

Over the years many students of health, healing and their own life and body dream of a temple in nature, a community, a place where harmony restores us, brings us back to happiness and peace. It is not paradise it is on this earth and it is born of effort, work, dedication,  service, vision, power, discipline - it is the work of love - it is a true healing center. We dream of lotuses, and temples, and healing waters, and kindness and service. We know it is possible and we seek for the path in a world that values indulgence, materialism, power and desire, but those that seek, they will find. Our beloved School of Natural Medicine is a step toward this dream.

With self healing the first task is your own life and body. Until you have transformed your life into health giving and health loving how can you create a healthy family, work place or community?

Here are a few words of a beautiful new student dreaming of her vision, her future and what she wishes to create and offer the world. I say YES! go for it and enjoy the process and do the work of transformation and self healing and create an oasis and a temple of healing and nourishment for others.

"This is my goal that I have been blessed to vividly visualize and believe this is going to be a reality, a goal I needed to help me through my studies!!!  I just have to tell you the visions I've been getting and that I have shared with my husband and this is what is giving him more confidence in what I am trying to accomplish!

We want to purchase a beautiful peace of land, I don't know where YET, but it exists somewhere I just have to find it.  Through my experience thus far, I have realized that its been a personal upward hill struggle to organize and adapt to this new way of thinking, living, and understanding....SoooOOoo...this place will be a retreat like place that someone who is searching for what you teach and that I have learned, will be engulfed in the lifestyle, with every aspect being taught to them, hand held through the process so that they can feel more confident in their journey of newly discovered health.  I am realizing that I needed or need this and am learning so much through the discovery part, but for those that just need the more hand held help approach it will all be there. 

 The property will be like a living community, a place my family can also be with me and see with their own eyes the beauty of healthy living.  It will have a teaching facility, meditation area surrounded with nature and beauty, chronic healing center, dispensary and garden, lodging for those who take classes, natural products being produced for the items that will help in the additional therapy recommendations, a home for where my family will stay, and the best part a special cottage or living quarters for you when ever you are able to teach or want to stay to be close to this retreat, no one else will be allowed in this place it will just be there for you whenever you want!!!  Doesn't this sound so beautiful.  It is so vivid in my visions that I cannot deny that this is attainable. 

I have a clear vision of what I can accomplish and that is helping me study more and more.  What do you think?  For now I am starting to log and putting daily, weekly accomplishments or just a journal entry into my discovery of this journey so that someone can see my story and know that anyone can walk this path, and it gives validity to my story For a person like me just opening the door to this new world...it is a dream come true.

I believe in my heart this will be the greatest gratitude to you that I can blossom your teachings into this reality.

SEEDS OF GRATITUDE FLOWER IN SOUL GARDENS

I believe our relationships are flowers in our soul garden. This lovely image from Go Gratitude shares the same idea.

When new students enter the field of the School of Natural Medicine they are like buds longing to flower into all they can be and it is a joy to nourish and be part of that unfolding. In this way the field of creation blooms and each one of us is an offering.

When learning is growing we become more of who we are. When studying is the joy of unfolding we radiate love and gratitude. All the good things grow more of the good things.

EVOLUTION, WISDOM & THE CALL OF THE SOUL

What is Evolution? Some months ago I received inspiration about Evolution and enjoyed creative time designing ideas for classes, seminars and logos, and lately almost every time I open my computer I hear of others playing with these words and designing seminars and courses and icons based around personal and feminine evolution. I love the unfolding universe and how it reveals the time for collective consciousness to recognize and bring forth the idea of the time.

Today an email from Women on the Edge of Evolution connected me with several high profile women speakers on the same wave edge of consciousness and a month or so ago I heard about the Integral group that has evolved out of Ken Wilbur 's teachings and are now presenting iEvolve.

While personal evolution has always been a part of my depth individual work with students, graduates and clients I feel it is now entering a larger domain both with web presence and media strong speakers and leaders. I salute that and honor their presentations and also feel grateful that my work is with individuals and small groups and those committing to profound self healing.

I think it is interesting to dialogue and discuss ideas however to really evolve requires a deeper process, a willingness to work on all levels: physical, emotional, social, mental and spiritual. It is necessary to prepare oneself to receive resonant vibrational levels through physical purification and regeneration, to release emotional wounds and enter the realm of forgiveness and forgetting beyond power struggles and the need to win or be right, to clear the emotional field and enter the heart of compassion, to purify the mind through practice and enter into communion with the personal aspect of soul that is waiting for us and calling for us. However the question remains. Truly, what is evolution? How does it get activated? What is its purpose? Do we truly evolve?

Today I remembered Proverbs and a magnificent writing that speaks of Wisdom calling our souls to return to their original home. Although I haven't read the Bible for years, this passage is included in a Treasury of Mystic Terms from the Science of the Soul Research Center. Wisdom is described as the cry of the soul, the call that pulls us forward to evolve toward our highest purpose and our return to our soul home.

"Does Wisdom not call meanwhile? Does discernment not lift up her voice? On the hilltop, on the road, at the crossways, she takes her stand; Beside the gates of the city, at the approaches to the gates she cries aloud: Oh men, I am calling to you; My cries go out to the sons of men, You ignorant ones! Study discretion; And you fools, come to your senses! Listen I have serious things to tell you, from my lips come honest words. My mouth proclaims the truth, wickedness is hateful to my lips. All the words I say are right!".... and then further on "Accept my discipline rather than silver, knowledge in preference to pure gold, For Wisdom is more precious than pearls, and nothing else is so worthy of desire".... Proverbs 8:1-11

These beautiful biblical sentences describe the inner call of the soul, the wisdom that awakens us to look at our lives and begin to prepare for the greater journey, to face ourselves and our purpose and enter on to the path of personal evolution that will lead us home. It is this call from our soul wisdom that opens the path to personal evolution. It is there within each one of us to listen and heed this call. Wisdom has many faces, forms and appearances and Kwan Yin is one of those. She pours the milk of compassion and calls with her grace and beauty toward spiritual truth.

I am most pleased once more to be in tune with the great unfolding and the wisdom of the universe within and without. We all hold our place and our truth and once more gratitude fills my heart at my return to Boulder, my opening of a healing temple and the new cycle of the teaching. I am always thankful for the privilege of knowing and being part of the wondrous personal evolution of self healing students, graduates and clients. May we all evolve together in love, consciousness, compassion and truth.

WHERE IS THE HEALER IN YOU?

Where is the Healer in You? This Eye of Horus from the ancient Egyptian tradition was the eye of wisdom, skill and compassion that physicians embodied as their ideal. What level of consciousness do your eyes reveal? Do they shine bright with energy and compassion? Do they light with love on others? Do they radiate your own heart of embodied wisdom?

How does a person become a healer? Information is only part of the picture. The most important aspect to consider when wanting to become a healer is who you are as a person. School of Natural Medicine is based on Self-Healing, the profound process of personal evolution. Self Healing is not just experience gained from overcoming physical conditions, but continuing growth on emotional, social, mental and spiritual levels of integrated being.

All classes include healing processes. Information is absorbed through experience, embodiment and practice. Students always say they learn more than they ever realized.

THE GREAT LOVING HEART OF THE UNIVERSE

Today I feel the universe streaming through my human heart and I strive to open my heart to the fullest extent where I am in each moment so that all that restricts the flow of love can melt and dissolve. Today I am feeling connected all over the world to so many that I know and many more that I do not. One wishes one could burst into warp speed with an open heart and enter a new universe that responds to the love that you give and share and doubles it with the response so that the living air is filled with heart love.

Seeking and longing take you where you want to go. I believe if I keep this longing alive as my practice it will one day be a living experience. Meanwhile I am grateful for my contribution as a teacher and for the many opportunities to practice open heart love in this feel of connected creation.
