SNM ICELAND HEALTH MASTER SCHOOL MAY 2008

Fheartman

Here I am in Iceland again - sitting on the heart of a red stone astrological figure centered in a beautiful carved rock mandala. I'm staying for nearly a month this time - beginning with the Summerhouse holiday with co-directors Lilja and Gitte where Gitte made Mind Maps of all our projects - then teaching a Master Touch Reflexology and a 6 day Immersion completing the first year of Iridology & Natural Medicine studies in our School of Natural Medicine International 3 year Naturopathy Health Master Iceland training in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Liljaepob

Lilja had just presented a beautiful booth at the Health Expo, featuring Young Living Essential Oils and signed up 60 distributors, along with two Englishmen who run YLO in London. Gitte was busy catering a living food seminar in Solheimer, 73 year old eco-village  retreat center, a fantastic valley with a warm microclimate, its own hot spring and organic gardens and restaurant and beautiful architecture.

Gmindmapw

As well as the classes I am meeting with students from previous years, dear Iris, Vaka and Magga; taking a day trip to Solheimer where we will be holding our yearly retreat starting in June 2009 as each year graduates along with a swim in my favorite Hveregerthi hot spring and a visit to a cave; potluck and gathering with the 2007 group; enjoying an open house at Yggrasil, the local organic healthfood store, for prospective students, meeting new students entering the 2008 group, an oil gathering and of course our SNM planning meetings. I also usually love to see Kristbjorg, creator of Iceland Nature Essences, who is also a graduate of the Master Iridologist SNM training from 2000 and a teacher in SNM both in Iceland and Colorado. All the SNM Master Iridologist graduates are also having their yearly meeting while I am in Iceland.

Fllichendreamsw

While every day is full I also enjoy lovely long walks, hot springs and pools swimming and browsing in the wonderful creative boutiques for felted wool creations and Icelandic fashion, Even better, having tea in Hlomahlind, the organic wireless vegan coffee house/cafe with friends.

Spring is bursting here and the days feel warmly freshly crisp. When you walk past a budding tree the aroma of the green is intoxicating - why? perhaps a combination of the excitement of growth after the long dark winter meeting the pure bright air of an Icelandic spring. It is bright light now till past ten o'clock and the days will continue to lengthen until June 21st solstice when it will be 24 hrs of light - the summer form of the northern lights.

Just bought the latest Sigur Ros album, fantastic, and read the novel, The Blood of Flowers, by Anita Amirrezvani, about a woman carpet maker in 17th century Iran. I delight in the transition times when I can let go of all the known schedules and drift invisibly in time for a while. Enjoy the pics - more later!!!

SNM HEALTH MASTER ICELAND ENJOYS LIVING FOOD CLASS

Livfdgrp408

Lilja and Gitte, center of photograph in the front row, School of Natural Medicine Iceland, co-directors and teachers led the Living Food Lifestyle Teacher training program for our first year Naturopathy students, in their three year Health Master program, in Reykjavik Iceland.

I (Farida) am in Iceland May 8 to June 4th for a Naturopathy Immersion with this group and an open Reflexology training, with Kate coming from Boulder, and Hedwig and her husband coming from Paris to join Icelandic students.

I will meet with the new student group who are embarking on their Self-Healing preparation for their first September classes, and with other new students in the enrollment process. Eventually we will work with three concurrent groups, each group ending with a ten day living food purification and regeneration retreat in a beautiful hot spring valley.

You can see the radiant loving quality in all the faces after nearly one year of Self-Healing. As a teacher I feel very blessed to have such a dedicated passionate group of students.

ICELAND GRAD & SNMI PARTNER FEATURED IN NEWSPAPER

20080410bigimg_2

I love to see how SNM Graduates evolve and progress with courage, creativity, joy and determination to share the skills and self-healing attained during their studies at the School of Natural Medicine, and I love sharing the news even more to inspire others to walk the path of evolutionary self-healing professional training - the way to become an authentic healer and living example.

Lilja Oddsdottir, Master Iridologist since 2000, and our SNMI Health Master co-director, Essential Oils, Sclerology, Living Food teacher, and Self-Healing practitioner was recently featured in a Reykjavik newspaper, 24 stundir, sharing Iridology and our Health Master three year naturopathy training.

Her picture is on the top. She is the lovely lady with the blond hair. Together with Gitte, our other amazing and wonderful co-director, Self-Healing practitioner, Living Foods Teacher and much more, Lilja runs the monthly study groups between Naturopathy Immersions and other schedule classes.

In Iceland we are beginning our enrollment for our new group of 2008 students who will start training in September and begin their Self-Healing module in preparation. Our first student completed her enrollment yesterday with more in process!!!

Our first year 2007 group will begin their second year, so I will enjoy a month in Iceland in May and again in September into beginning October for the trainings.

MAY REFLEXOLOGY ICELAND ATTRACTING INT'L STUDENTS

Hedwigmtnstreamb
The SNM international connection is expanding with School of Natural Medicine now active in Boulder, USA, Health Master Iceland SNMI in Reykjavik, Iceland, with Mr. Wong in Malaysia, and SNM UK in Devon, England - our many international students now have more choices when they wish to experience a training.

Our UK website goes up tomorrow - take a look - www.herenowhealing.com

The picture shows Hedwig on the Rocky Mountain Meadow herbal hike during SS 07. She will be attending the Reykjavik training after her marriage on May 10th in Europe and we are gifting her new husband with the first three days of the training so he can learn how to give beautiful foot massages to his bride!

Our May 16, 17, 18 & 20, 21, 22 Divinity Touch Reflexology Training in Reykjavik, iceland has already attracted Kate Bullings, a fantastic Lauren Berry practitioner and student at SNM this April of Essential Oils & Iridology, and Hedwig Leichtenstein, of Paris, Austria and the south of Africa, a passionate student of Iridology & Natural Medicine who attended Summer School 2007 in Boulder. Along with our Icelandic students we are creating a fine group to experience this work.

IRIDOLOGY ASSIGNMENTS BECOME IRIDOLOGY ART

Rannveigirisart

Rannveig, our very first student to enroll in the three year Naturopathy Health Master Training in Reykjavik, Iceland enjoys her Iridology assignments so much, they become art. Every time I review a student's Study Materials I find they are so beautifully done, clearly indicating how much the student enjoys their studies and loves doing a fine job - a most perfect way to learn something! I truly believe that if a person does one thing well they do everything well.
Rannveig

Rannveig lives in the north of Iceland, Akreryrei (sp?) and already had an herbal company before enrolling in Health Master Iceland. I am delighted to share her work with others.

She is an example of our superb School of Natural Medicine student - passionate, enthusiastic, committed to Self-Healing and dedicated to achieving high levels of professional skills combined with embodiment of the teachings.

ICELAND STUDENTS EXPERIENCE DIVINITY TOUCH RAINDROP

Snmi_raindrop

The students met with Lilja and Gitte to receive part of the Essential Oils Therapist Training. It was a fragrant, harmonious and healing experience as most of the day was devoted to learning the Raindrop Technique and giving and receiving sessions. It was amazing to watch the students go into a quiet, deep, slow and respectful healing state-of-being for giving the Raindrop treatments.

Farida developed the Divinity Touch method for giving treatments to allow the client to enter deeply into a state parasympathetic relaxation that engages the clients own innate healing resources and allows profound integration of the treatment on a very deep level.

The rest of the day was about the essential oils for daily use. We will meet next in March for advanced Raindrop technique (yumm!) and to learn more about the chemistry and use of the oils.

A unique feature of Heilsumeistaraskólinn ( School of Natural Medicine in Iceland) is that all students start with a 3 months naturopathic Self-Healing Program, a program that includes all the things we teach in the school. We asked everyone for a report and here they share their experience. It's truly inspiring - and in some cases funny. Enjoy!

“Since the 20th of August I have been totally devoted to this purification diet. That is for nearly 6 weeks now. Honestly it has not been hard at all…. Since I have decided to follow this program I’m doing it with style and grace. Actually, I’m very proud of myself for sticking with it - it’s quite an ego kick…. My lungs feel so much better almost as if I have a brand new pair - amazing. Plenty of energy all day long. Waking up as soon as I wake up in the morning without 3 cups of coffee…. The silhouette has changed for the better the belly is not as huge nor the double chin. There have been a few strange things happening, though, like flash-backs from past conditions rather, each one only lasting a short time, couple of days or so. For example dizziness, inner ear unbalance (used to bother me many years ago), mouth ulcers or sores, face skin blemishes, dry spots on elbows, very hot and red ear loop, stiff fingers in the mornings only for a minute or so. That’s pure detox for you!”

“I've been on track, except for one occasion where I gave in - to a hot dog ( in an emergency situation - and by golly did it taste bad! I didn't want to finish it - I guess my sense of (food) taste is getting more sophisticated and healthy.”

“The first 2-3 days when I started the self healing program I felt very tired, but after that I felt I had more energy than I had before. I have felt great and more relaxed since I started the self healing program.“

“I have lost 5 kg, my skin and hair are in better balance (less hair loss), elimination is more often, blood glucose-balance, the womb is not so swollen and I have much more energy now, less tired.. I have noticed less body smell from the entire body….More positive and open to my feelings.”

“I FINISHED one month on Mono…. I attended 2 parties, 2 days in a row, the first was with meat soup and I was allowed to go first in the pot and I fished out the turnips and it was great and when the pavlova (my favorite) came, I had only one and half organic apple. The next day my sister-in-law had a birthday with pizzas and cakes, I asked for carrots, they were served in a beautiful bowl with water in glass, and the admiration I got from my family felt good…. I am still drinking the liver cleanse drink, lovely and have already finished 2 weeks of castor oil pack…. Today as I write this: 10 kilo have left me and my husband, darling Doddi, has been with Lilja for a Self-Healing consultation and has started on the herbs, and just now we had our first green soup (a thick one) and we looked at each other: It was good!!! That was an amazing surprise. Love to you all.”

“…love the castor oil packs and the colon massage, I would like to wrap myself into the ginger packs but I let the kidney area do:-). The Epsom salt baths are an addiction as the dry brushing of the skin. The oils are a delight for me and I use them whenever I can. Making lots of raw food dishes in my kitchen and I think that I cannot live without the herbs and the slippery elm. I put the herbs in water, lemon juice, 2-3 drops lemon oil and a dash of cayenne pepper.”

“I think I’m gonna like this new lifestyle a lot, I have been eating mostly greens since 10th of August, did mono meals for about a month and lost 4 kg. Monomeals suits me fine during the day at work. And drinking that green stuff in the morning. Taking my herbal pills and doing epsom baths....I just luv that!.... My bloodpressure has changed from 140/90 to 130/83. Yeahh. Yippeeee. I don’t feel as tired in the morning when I get up......don’t exactly jump from bed....but its a whole lot easier. Best is though I don’t feel so much muscle pain and stiffness and I’m not so tired after work.”

ICELAND STUDENTS LOVE TO GET TOGETHER

Bara

BARA, our woman of wisdom, midwife, dedicated practitioner and student and a most loving person with a delightful sense of humor reports:

Dear Farida, Lilja and Gitte, I must share with you a wonderful evening 12 of your favorite students had yesterday, 10 coming all the way from Reykjavík with a lot of good stuff to eat. In a few words - it was a grand buffet.

I made a winter soup with lot af the root vegetables and the only spices living food talks about. Some brought salad. Bergþóra made the spaghetti of Kúrbít(?) and sauce, Hafdís brought the delicious cracker and hummus and sauce, There were a lot of raw deserts like mango cake, strawberry cake, marinade fruit with cashew cream and sweet rolled balls.

Since we were only 12, we could sit around the table and eat together, share recipes, and talk about self-healing and changing our food habits or not! We laughed at our mistakes, shared stories of our lives and afterwards we cuddled all on my sofa (shame we did not think of taking pictures). Sorry that not all were able to come, but let me say all who did not come are in danger to be outside of a wonderful group, but we talked about that danger and we all agreed to not to let that happen. Everyone is invited and come and enjoy!!!

We looked at Angel cards from Doreen Virtue and we all felt the great spirit in our self and around us. It could be felt in a mysterious way, but not mystical since we all are a kind of strong natural spirits.

Thank you Gitte for starting such a gathering, we missed you all, sending a lot of love for the school. Bára

GITTE'S IRISES 2003 - SELF HEALING BEGINS IN ICELAND

Gitte was recommended through Lilja, now also a Director of Health Master Iceland in Reykavik, Iceland. We began treatment for chronic fatigue and the dedication, commitment, love, passion and joy of Gitte's approach to Self Healing shows in the results in her life - good health, strength, professional success and a major role as a teacher, director and partner. Congratulations, Gitte! Turning your life around is what it is all about! Becoming all that you are and more with many surprises in store as to how your life unfolds in ways you could never imagine - I always say we are preparing for better things to come - that is a quote from my first Iridology teacher, Dr. Raymond Christopher - way back in 1977. I dearly loved his truth and inspiration and look what the teaching and self healing did for my life - we are all testamonials to our choices and habits. With Self Healing we learn the best way we can be and then we share that with others. Win! Win!

GITTE'S IRISES 2004 - SELF HEALING IN HER SECOND YEAR

Gitte's 2004 iris pictures depict the beginning changes in the first year of Self Healing. First you dive into into the chronic fatigue, then you go through it and then you recover.

SNMI HEALTHMASTER ICELAND DIRECTOR'S EYES SHINE

Gittedanielraw_2

Gitte sent me this magazine clip of an article recently praising her example, teaching and work with living and raw food in Iceland. About six years ago we started to work together with her Self Healing from chronic fatigue and soon after she brought me to Iceland for a series of seminars. I have seen her son, Daniel, eat heartily of her beautiful salads, energy soup and natural raw and living food vegetarian meals and doing very well on it too!

Lilja photographed her irises in 2003, 2004 and recently for our Health Master Immersion Naturopathy training in Reykjavik in September 2007. Do contemplate her irises and note any changes. They were all photographed with the same camera and some changes may be noted over the time of her continued Self Healing and dedication to Living & Raw Foods - if you can do it in Iceland, you can do it anywhere!!!

Gitte attended the SNM Living Food Teacher Training in Puerto Rico in April (check the Flickr pics and Wigmore Archives in April and May for pics) and is now the Living Foods teacher as well as one of the three directors of Health Master Iceland.

I love to share success and abundance stories and testimonials from students and graduates of the school. Potential students - become inspired! This is a true, loving and joyful path to an authentic life and fine professional skills. You can never imagine where your Self Healing journey will take you when you enroll in School of Natural Medicine.

IRIS PICS: 2007 pics here and 04 and 03 pics in the next blogs upward as the program would't let me show them in sequence here, not that I can figure out anyway
